Our story began some 70 years ago in |
It was in the early 1930s that Signor Ugo Incerpi, owner of the Bar New York, bought a coffee roasting machine, in order to be able to offer something special to the sophisticated clientele visiting the spa town in order to rest and “take the waters”. The result? His coffee was so good that, within a short time, word spread and on Sundays people even came from as far as Florence to enjoy “Signor Ugo’s” fine coffee.
The classic "Caffe New York" brand, with its logo of a negress holding a handful of coffee beans, appeared in the mid-1930s. A redesigned version of symbol is still used today. |

In the 1950s and 1960s, Signor Oscar Onori, son-in-law of Signor Incerpi, transformed the business from a cottage industry. Caffe New York began to be distributed in cafés and bars across Tuscany. This period saw the introduction of "Primeros", a mild blend, which nevertheless has the strength of real Italian espresso. The packaging of this blend shows a huntsman enjoying a hot cup of "Caffe New York". |
Thus our story moved forward to the present, when at any time of day thousands of people throughout the world can be found drinking our coffee. Not only in Tuscany, but also in Japan, France, Canada, South Africa and Germany, where we have received special recognition, beating much better known competitors.
