Ponce Toscano – Liquor – 0,70L BOTTLE

Description

The “Ponce” is a typical alcoholic drink of the city of Livorno born between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The origin seems to go back to the English punch; it is no coincidence that the British communities in the seventeenth century were numerous in the city. At the time, the people of Livorno started from the main ingredients of punch and replaced coffee with tea and added rum instead of brandy.

They left the other ingredients unchanged (sugar, lemon and cinnamon) and thus punch was born which, obviously, has undergone changes over time compared to the recipe known today.
